More Brawley Christmas

Christmas in Brawley

Practicing our good oral hygiene

Wrangler butts drive me nuts :-)
We spent a week in Brawley soaking up the sun and of course we got to see COWS!!! and we even know what horses are now. I figure by the age of two Austin should have a vocubulary complete with all of the animals in the kingdom...well, at least those on the farm :-)

Christmas x's four

With our family kinda spread out we did four different Christmas celebrations. You can imagnine how upset Austin was to see that at each house we went to there were new toys to be had. By the fourth house he had the whole gift wrapping thing down.

Our version of a "white" Christmas

This is A-Ross sitting next to the anatomically correct snowman that Adrian and his now future brother-in-law created. Way to set an example fellas!!

Austin had a blast this past weekend for his thirty minutes of snow. Once his hands got cold though, the fun was all gone and back to the warm cabin we went. :-( I am sure once he discovers snowballs we are going to have one red-cheeked, numb fingered, snow ball throwing fool!!!

The dogs of course had a great time...

Mishap at the Morgan's

Austin is officially a "real boy". He had a run in with the coffee table and I guess you could say the coffee table won this round.

Just 4 Fun

I swear this is not photo shopped. Look into his eyes for twenty seconds and then look at the wall, tell me if you see the shadow of Elvis...

Thanksgiving in Brawley

I got to go with G-Pa Ross and check out "THE COWS!!! This is one of my favorite words but I usually only get to see THE COWS in my books . You can imagine how excited I was to see them in person.

.

And Oh boy do they have toys!! I wasn't too wild about the horses but I loved, "THE TRACTORS" (Translation, anything with wheels)
.

Christmas photos with an 18 month old!!!

Okay, we have a smile but we are in the hallway...not much of a background.

Great background, but we don't exactly have great light and no smile.(Uncle PBJ really like the touch of the Dallas cheerleader to Austin's right)

Okay, so let's introduce a horse in the picture and see if this keeps little man happy.

Needless, to say we didn't get our "glamour shot" on this day.

A lazy day at Grammy's

I thought these were too cute to pass up.

Halloween

Halloween at it's finest. Adrian and I went to a Halloween part at some friends house and the theme for the party was White Trash. It was a stretch but we managed to put together a few outfits for ourselves. You will notice the bulging belly with the "got er' done" mantra, and what pregnant woman doens't drink Keystone Light? What you don't see too well is my black eye and can of Copenhagen in my undergarmets. Adrian is sporting his work coveralls, standard issue Phillips Cattle Co. hat and a few extra tatoos you can't see and of course a Keystone Light. We had a ton of fun and there were some great costumes. Austin in his "backup" costume. His daycare had a party for halloween but I couldn't bear to think of him spilling punch and cookies on his adorable costume he would be donning later that evening so he went in his Superman PJ's.
It was a real stretch trying to figure out what to have A-Ross wear this year but we decided to stick with the primates. This was the cutest costume but I couldn't get my little tornado to stand still long enough to get a good picture.
If you look carefully you will see the trademark banana hanging out of this chango's pocket.
Grandpa & Grandma J went with us that night for an evening on the town. We didn't do the traditional door to door because I didn't want to look like one of those weirdo parents who takes their little one trick or treating knowing that he isn't going to eat a single candy in the bag so we went to the retirement home where the seniors and the juniors have a blast :-)

Mommy's Litte Dare Devil

What started out as a peacefil evening reading with an 18 month old turned into a night that Evil Kneivel couldn't reproduce himself...

Catch up Blog

Does anyone remember the movie, "The Royal Tannenbaums"? This is Austin as a Tannenbaum. He came with us to walk for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. He was more interested in running up and down the H.S. Football field.
My little farmer John is loving this hand-me-down. My mother says I should start calling him JED.
I had a weekend between the end of one set of classes and the begining of the next ones so we took a family escape to Bass Lake. The picture to the left is an example of the Tom Foolery that goes on after A-Ross is asleep...Family DOG PILE!!!
Austin and Chango catching up on a little R&R at the cabin.
If you take a picture with the local paper while you are out of town and send it in to them they will publish it...we are such SUCKERS!!!

A very exciting weekend!

We stayed in town this weekend however, we weren't at the house too much. We went to a Renaissance Fair, the Fire Department had an open house, we went out to pizza and of course we went to Target :-)

Got your nose!! Austin has got Grandpa Mike wrapped around his finger.

This is me in the fire truck. If you didn't know this about me I am a fanatic for anything with wheels.

As a person who works in education I was beside myself with excitement when Austin started bringing us books to read and would actually sit still long enough to get past two pages. Now, I am soo tired of reading the same books over and over again I keep encouraging him to start watching TV. I cannot understand how we can have 100 books in the house but he keeps bringing us the same 5 over and over again. We were actually trying to get a few photos of Austin and a Pumpkin at Grammy's house but he was more interested in the rocks. I thought these pic's were too cute to pass up. Mr. Independence now insists on holding his snack bowl all by himself. I try to keep the snacks dry but when you have a child that is a fruit junky it is difficult to rationalize giving him gold fish over melon. We call the dogs the "clean up crew" and they even eat the misguided banananas
