A trip to Cayucos

Recently, we were lucky enough to spend a long weekend in Cayucos thanks to the "other" Jenkins family :-) The kids had a blast and mom and dad even got a chance to hit the town for Adrian's birthday. Morgan was thinking about ordering the Halibut Tacos...

This is the Cayucos crew.

We caught this seal (or sea lion or otter, I have no idea what it was, I just know it wasn't a shark) catching a few waves. The kids were jazzed when it came ashore!

He also loved the sand too of course.

Morgan took a little less interest in the water this trip but she built lots of "sand castles'

Swim Lessons

Ms. Shirley is my new hero! After 3 years of failed swim lessons with Austin Ms. Shirley had Austin swimming across the pool in 6 days! And she had Morgan following following close behind! I'm so excited!

Look at the trust in this picture.

4th of July

Austin got really into the fireworks this year. Which influenced his sister to have fun too. We even let them stay up until 10 pm. WOOOHOOO, they even slept in the next day until 8:30, a new record.

Waiting for the start of the fireworks.

While the rest of us were waiting for Papa Mike's masterpieces.

Paiton and Morgan sunbathing.

Oceanside 2010

Well, Oceanside provided the backdrop for yet another GREAT vacation!! The kids slept in the same bed for the first time, needless to say they enjoyed so much they couldn't bare to go to sleep until the wee hours of the night. Everyone got in the water and Austin got braver by the day! Austin the adventurer getting ready to explore the sea life.

The best part about being a kid is being able to take a shower outside and not be all freaked out about it!

Morgan getting into the oceanic action. She is such a water-worm we weren't worried for a minute about how she would take to the water.

Austin getting so brave! He even went under a few times. Not bad for a kid who can't swim.

Morgan and the sinking feet theory. The kids loved that their feet would sink in the sand.

Austin being taken down by the waves. And he just kept going.

One of the many faces/moods of my Austin! Truly a face only a mother could love!

Morgan and her dad.

Happy Austin

Pappa J teaching Austin how to fold the flag. It's a ritual that the kids really look forward to. Even if it is 6am when they are ready to raise the flag.

It was cooler than usual, thank goodness I packed those last minute sweatshirts!

I think the look on his face says it all!

Taking the flag down.
